How To Get Top Rankings In Google
The most important aspect you should consider to get top rankings in Google is on-page SEO.
Let’s consider the steps. First, there is the “title tag”. The title tag holds more weight that just about any other component on the page.
Now Google will publish in its listing the title of your post up to 65 characters. This can really work in your favor and most bloggers do not take advantage of this.
You title tag should include your “primary” keyword and if possible, your “secondary” keyword.
Of equal importance especially to your readers, is your description. After the title, this is what attracts visitors to click through and visit your site. It’s worth spending a little time creating a good description. Think of it as a billboard that you want to get your message out on.
The description should also contain your “primary” keyword. It’s important even thought big “G” doesn’t consider it, because other search engines do. And, since most of these lesser search engines (that can drive targeted traffic) do count the “meta-description” you want to make it a good one. Your description should contain no more than 160 characters.
This way Google will include your complete description in your site listing.
Finally there are “meta-keywords”, make sure to include keywords relevant to your article. Again, this is not so much for Google as it is for other search engines that still count “meta-tags.”
Moving on, include <H1>, <H2>, <H3> headline tags with your primary and secondary keywords
Also, make sure to use bold, italics and underline for your primary keyword in your post.
Keywords density should be around 3%.
OK… now for the good stuff
