Five Ways You Can Make Money Blogging

100x100 john yeo8961 Five Ways You Can Make Money BloggingI just finished reading a post on John Yeo’s blog that he titled “5 Ways You Can Make Money Blogging.”

You may be familiar with John Yeo as the creator of Blogger’s Paycheck.

He was prompted to write the post after hearing a lot of griping from some of his subscribers saying that they had no time, no money, etc. when it comes to making money online.

As a result he asked himself, what would he do if he were to restart his blogging and internet marketing businesses with the benefit of a list or any knowledge, without any marketing experience, without knowing how to drive traffic and without a team.

His answer was Blog Flipping.

this revelation came after he had just sold 5 blogs for more than $250 each over the course of two weeks.

Blog Flipping is the process where you create totally new blogs, monetize them and sell them.

Here are some of the benefits:

1. You do not need a list
2. You do not need traffic
3. You do not need knowledge of marketing
4. No backlinking

Method #1 – Blog Flipping is the first method.

Here are the 4 other methods John listed.

Method #2 – Advertising (Adsense, Kontera)
Method #3 – Private Ad Sales
Method #4 – Sell Your Own Product
Method #5 – Sell Other people’s Stuff (Affiliate Marketing)

These are very basic.

If you are an affiliate marketer and you want to learn how to increase your commissions using blogs, then you’ll want to read this article. Specifically I’ll discuss how automatic blogging can increase blog traffic, increase SERP and increase profits.

It is common knowledge that blogs, especially WordPress blogs, rank well in Google. The main reason is that blogs unlike static websites are updated with fresh content on a regular basis. This is primarily because blogs are so easy to set up and maintain. Moreover, if you use WordPress as your blogging platform, with the right plugins, it’s fairly easy to optimize your blog for the Google search engine and get your blog posts indexed quickly. (In fact I’ve had posts indexed as fast as 20 minutes).

These facts make blogs an excellent platform for Affiliate Marketers.

But how can automatic blogging increase your commissions? Here’s how. Many affiliate marketers set up blogs just before a product launch hoping to take advantage of fast indexing in Google typically using the product name or a variation such as productname-dot-com/productname-review-dot-com or some variation etc. as their main keyword. This works well, especially if you add various web 2.0 techniques to bookmark your site. However, content is still king.

A careful look at some of the top ranking blogs during product launches reveals that there is more going on behind the scenes.

Using a tool such as SEO Quake (a free Firefox plugin that I highly recommend) reveals that in order to maintain the initial high ranking, you have to also have more than just one page of content. Your SERP in Google is highly dependent on backlinks (internal and external) pointing to your domain name. The object is not just to get your blog indexed quickly, but to get it to stick on page 1 of Google even amid rabid competition and the various shenanigans Google plays (Google Slaps, Google Dance, etc.)

One way to achieve that is to use automatic blogging software to generate content that is related to your blog theme. For example, if you are selling a product about Traffic Generation, then in addition to your product review page, you should add content that is generally related to generating traffic. As this content is added to your blog, you can edit the posts and add links back to your main page (which is usually set up as a static page).

Additionally, it is important to backlink to the internal pages of your site and not just the main page. It’s only natural that a site with quality content would have links to individual posts and not just the main review or sales page. Using social bookmarking sites like Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Propeller etc. you can bookmark individual posts (that are linked to your static page [main page] which builds site reputation).

Each time the search engines spider your site, they will see added content relevant to the main theme of the blog with backlinks to your main page. This increases SERP and makes your site sticky. Why? Because Google rewards content rich sites. When you combine this with other backlink techniques you will achieve high SERP and your site will be firmly embedded on page 1.

50 Ways To Make Money Blogging

Here’s a great resource for anyone looking to make money blogging or for that matter blogging in general. The site is called Dough Blogger.

Make sure you read the post on 50 Ways To Make Money Blogging.

Fifteen months ago I knew nothing about blogging. Since then I’ve built a reasonably successful blog that will generate about $2,500 in revenue this month. Some months are better, others a little less. I suspect by year end I will have earned $20,000 to $25,000, and I expect next year to be even better–all in my spare time. And the top bloggers make much more. But here’s the catch.

I just stumbled across it as I was doing some research. Once I saw how great the content was I immediately bookmarked it for future reference.

Bob

An Honest Review of Blogging To The Bank 2010

banner5 An Honest Review of Blogging To The Bank 2010

By now I think most people in the world know about blogs.

What most don’t know is you can earn a great income blogging and it can be made as well for free.

Rob Benwell is only a mere 24 years old and has already made several million dollars. Early in 2006 he shared his secrets with the world in his highly successful Blogging To The Bank ebook and has made making money online a whole lot easier for everyone.

Since it’s launch in 2006 Blogging to the Bank versions 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 have sold over 30,000 copies and there’s been thousands of success stories from people making anything from a couple of hundred dollar extra to people now running seven figure businesses

I got a copy as soon as I could and it covers quite a lot of new information and techniques to adapt your blog to the new demands of the major search engines. Many of the techniques in the old book are now out-dated and don’t work so well.

What’s New In BTB 2010

banner1 An Honest Review of Blogging To The Bank 2010

For 2010 Rob has modified his strategy and narrowed it down to creating 2 types of blogs for maximum results…

This new method revolves around mixing two approaches to blogging and has allowed him to reach six figures a lot faster while lowering his cash outlay. He refers to this new system as STB (Short Term Blogging) & LTB (Long Term Blogging respectively).

Let’s just say it is an ingenious way to both earn short term quick profits and long term major profits from your blogging empire.

In addition to these new techniques, Rob walks you through 5 awesome ways to monetize your blogs. I’ve been blogging a while now and he shares techniques I had never thought of.

Also this guy doesn’t consider himself to be a “guru”, he’s just a normal guy who wants to help the little guys out. I find this a nice change as he doesn’t talk “down” to you like most of the other guys do. He explains everything in a nice simple manor so everyone can understand.

Saying that when he “goes off on one” it may take a few reads until you get it but when you do it’s just shear genius. Some of the topics in my opinion could have been covered a little more, then others went into great detail. You also get his 5 Blogging Commandments For 2010 that you must follow to give you blogs the greatest success in 2010 and keep them future proofed.

This should be printed out and put on the wall of every online marketer without a doubt! His book starts off with market research (so that you are making the most of your time) to building your blogging empire.

Everything is covered in this new outing that helps bloggers with today’s online issues regarding making the all mighty search engines happy.

Who will Blogging The Bank benefit the most?

Without a doubt this eBook guide is written with new b loggers in mind as it covers all of the basics of getting your blogs up and running, (both free & domain hosted) as well as plugins, SEO, Traffic Generation and most importantly; How To Make Money With Blogs. However there is plenty in the guide if you are a more experienced blogger; especially when it comes to monetization techniques.

Be assured there are a lot more ways to make money blogging than Adsense or Affiliate programs:)

Final Verdict: Blogging The Bank 2010 is perfect if you have just started “blogging for money.”

And, as an experienced blogger, there was still a lot gems in this guide that I’ll be testing on my own blogs.
