How To Set Up Automated Blog Archives

How To Turn Ordinary PLR Articles Into a Gold Mine

Maybe you are like me and have a ton of PLR articles lying dormant on your hard drive. You know those text file articles long since forgotten since you downloaded them. I have literally thousands of these 300-400 word articles in scores of niches that I’ve amassed over the years.

If you’re in the same situation , you’ve got gold sitting on your hard drive waiting to be mined for huge profits.

Here’s the why and later I’ll tell you the how…

There are at least two things that every online marketer needs in order to succeed great content and targeted traffic.

The two are inextricable.

Relevant content makes the search engines love your site (and your customers too), and you need “targeted” traffic in order to get your content read and ultimately make sales.

Begin by organizing your files.

Step 1. Locate all of your PLR articles
Step 2. Create a folder and call it (i.e. PLR Articles)
Step 3. Go through the PLR and organize into sub-categories based on niche.
Step 4. Create a separate folder for each niche.
Step 5. Now that your files are organized, you need to do some basic niche research to see which niches are hot/money makers.
Step 6. Once you’ve decided on profitable niches, you need to find at least 3 products that you can use to make money.
Step 7. Create niche blogs using WordPress platform.
Step 8. Purchase a keyword rich domain name. Go to NameCheap.com (you can purchase a dot info domain for as little as $1.99)
step 9. Most PLR articles have been published on the Internet at one point or another. Rewrite the articles in your own words or spin them with a good article rewriting software like Brad Callen’s “FREE” Article Apps. You want to spin at least 25 copies of each article.
Step 10. Use these articles as the seed content for your blog(s). Make sure you use keywords in your anchor text hyper-links and that you cloak your affiliate links. (i.e. Keyword Text)
Step 11. Create a link wheel using at Web 2.0 properties. Seed each of these Web 2.0 properties with 3 articles.
Step 12. Use social bookmarking to get initial back-links.
Step 12. Post 3 articles to article directories (i.e. Ezine Articles, GoArticles, Article Alley).
Step 13. Bookmark.

This can certainly be done manually, but it will take some time!

Automatic Blogs: Why So Controversial?

Automatic Blog Controversy

There is a lot of controversy that surrounds the practice of automatic blogging. But why?

It centers around the question of useful content vs. totally useless spam.

While spam content may have been a legitimate claim years ago, today’s automatic blogging software produces extremely relevant and useful content.

The most widely used methods of setting up automatic blogs use either automated content generated from Article Directories, RSS Feed Content or PLR Articles.

Improvements in automatic blogging software have made automating both blog content and blog posting extremely simple.

Each system has its strengths and weaknesses. I’ve used them all and sometimes combine several methods to achieve desired results.

Why Automate Your Blogs?

The simple answer is that it saves time and increases productivity; especially is your goal is to monetize your blog(s).

Not everyone has to ability to pump out 3-4 articles consistently. Most blogging experts recommend posting on a regular basis to achieve high SERP (Search Engine Results Page).

This is the biggest challenge the vast number of people “Blogging For Profit” face. They don’t post content frequently enough to generate sufficient traffic or visitors to make any real money. Ultimately they get frustrated, claim you can’t make any money blogging and become another Online Marketing statistic.

Unique content still rules and I advocate posting fresh unique content as often as possible. But if you are raising a family, working a day job, marketing online part-time, etc., automatic blogging can save you time, boost your SERP results, increase traffic and skyrocket profits quickly and easily.

It’s important to install a robots.txt file in your root folder, simply because you don’t want Google to find out that you are using autoblog plugins. Make a text file and insert the following text into it:

Sitemap: /sitemap.xml

User-agent: *
Disallow: /wp-content/cache/
Disallow: /wp-content/themes/
Disallow: /wp-content/plugins/
Disallow: /wp-admin/
Disallow: /wp-includes/
Disallow: /wp-login.php

Rename it to: Robots.txt and place it in the root WP folder together with all the wp-content, wp-admin and wp-includes folders.

For more information on robots.txt files, go here: www.robotstxt.org/

Automatic Blogs: Not What You Think…

Automatic Blogs or rather automatic blogging gets mixed reviews. Blogging purists generally regard blogs that generate content with automated processes with much disdain. But the truth is the effectiveness of “automatic blogs” cannot be questioned.

What are your blogging goals. This may be the best determining factor for the kind of “Automatic Blog” you create!

When I think of automatic or automated blogs several things come to mind:

  1. Blogs whose content is generated through an automated process.
  2. Blogs that use RSS feeds for sole or additional content
  3. Blogs that use Article Directories for content
  4. Blogs that use PLR articles for content
  5. Blogs that are created through an automated process

The type of automatic blog that best meets your needs is solely dependent on your goals as a blogger. Your goals will also determine if automation is necessary to your blogging success.

Most blog automation involves generating content relevant to the blogs theme or purpose and its posting to the blog. Your content demands will be different depending on the kind of blog you publish. For example, the needs of an Affiliate marketer will be different from that of a hobbyist or from someone who is writing about a specific niche market.

The goal of the affiliate marketer is selling a product, while the goal of a professional writer or journalist may be a specific story or industry or niche market. The common denominator here is they all require relevant content.

This is what you need to think about if you are considering automatic blogging.

In my next post, I’ll look at using automatic blogs for affiliate marketing. Stay tuned or better yet, subscribe to my RSS feed.

Your comments of questions are welcomed.

Automatic Blog WordPress Plugin Review

Automatic Blog WordPress Plugin Review
By Bob Coleman

automaticblog 300x250 150x150 Automatic Blog WordPress Plugin ReviewAutomatic Blog WordPress Plugin is the topic of this article. Now that I’ve used it for about a week, I’d like to share my experience here as it may be helpful to other Internet Marketers who use WordPress Blogs and bloggers in general who are looking for ways to automate their blog posting.

I own several domain hosted WordPress blogs. My biggest challenge is keeping up with scheduled postings to my various. Since these blogs are in different niches, I typically research the current trends in that particular niche, took notes, wrote a brief article about a slant on the niche and posted to the blog. Obviously this can time consuming and tedious. Especially if you have to do it for 4 or 5 different blogs.

Then I experimented with RSS feeds. They worked well, except that they only provided 6-7 sentences of information. For my visitors to read the entire post, they had to click on the hyperlink. That defeated the entire purpose of trying to make my blogs “sticky” by providing varied and quality content.

Besides, the fact that good RSS software tended to be cost prohibitive.

Then I got a Tweet from a friend Nikola about a new product he’d developed. He called it Automatic Blog. He went on to explain that the advantage of Automatic Blog was that it pulls full articles (300+ words) from Articlesbase article directory straight into any domain hosted WordPress blog, and that once set up, it did this automatically each and every day.

Furthermore I could select from over 300 categories in the article directory and literally “cherry-pick” the kinds of articles I wanted to import.

I’ll just share the results from using Automatic Blog on one of my blogs.

First, I was able to immediately plug the areas that were lacking on my blog. You know those topical areas that you know you should post to, but you just never get around to it. Let me be more specific. Topic of my blog is Internet Marketing. I had originally planned to develop page on Free Traffic, Sales, SEO, PPC, Site Design, etc. Prior to using Automatic Blog, I’d only posted content into one category because I just didn’t have time to write 20 articles.

In a couple of days, using Automatic Blog I posted 10 highly relevant, targeted content articles to my blog.

Now I’m able to meet the needs of my blog visitors and subscribers, by providing a variety of articles on varying topics related to my niche that in the past would have taken me several days to write from scratch.

Automatic Blog literally saves me hours of research, writing and posting. I know there are similar tools on the market, but none of them pulls full articles like Automatic Blog.

Automatic Blog also comes with a complete 13-part video tutorial series to walk through of blogging, from novice to advanced blogging techniques.

To learn which features of Automatic Blog are best suited for you, see my full review of this powerful WordPress plugin at Automatic Blog Review.
