Has Google Panda Got You Shook?
Google Panda has so many marketers scurrying to deal with this latest threat. I am reminded of the once popular children’s song “Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf.”
I quick review of the lyrics gives us a glimpse into the the fear and trepidation the “little pigs” experienced (an in our analogy lots of online marketers) are experiencing behind Google Panda.
In the story, there are 3 “little-pigs” (piggy-wigs) and the “Big Bad Wolf”.
Now the Wolf was a real threat, but unfortunately two the piggy-wigs did not take seriously…
- One built a house of hay…
- One built a house of twigs…
- And, one built his house of brick!
Google Panda Can Be Scary…
You see, most of the folks I’ve talked to with concerns about Google Panda are just like Piggy-Wigs 1 & 2. They knew of the potential threat of the Big Bad Wolf but did little or nothing to prepare for his eventual arrival.
Those of us whose sites were unscathed by the Panda (the “Big Bad Wolf”) built our houses (in this case our blogs & websites) out of BRICK (On-Page/Off Page SEO, Backlinks, Social Bookmarking, etc.) ; not hay or twigs.
So on the day when Google frowned… And the PANDA blew into town with a gruff “puff-puff” he couldn’t blow our blogs down.
Remember in the end… the Big Bad Wolf is defeated!
Psychological Impact of Google Panda
I know it may seem overly simplified or even corny, but here is the real trouble with Panda… it’s got everybody shook!
In many cases the “myth” of Panda is having an bigger impact than the actual algorithm…
I’ve been monitoring conversations about autoblogs after Panda and the results (at least thus far) are mixed. Most have experienced minimal change and a few folks have lost big.
Overcoming Google Panda, even for autoblogging is not as big a challenge as most folks think. The best way to deal with Panda is to find out what Google wants and to the best of your ability, give them what they want.
This is even possible with autoblogs. Don’t get caught up the hype.
Here is a really short checklist of what you need to deal with Google Panda and build a house of BRICKS…
- Unique or original content (500-700 words)
- On page SEO
- Off page SEO
- Social Media marketing
- Social bookmarking
- Backlinks
I’ll soon be releasing a free guide on how autobloggers can overcome Farmer/Panda, but prior to the release, I need your feedback.
If you use autoblogs, how has Google Panda affected your auto-blogs. Please take a moment and leave a comment.
Thanks!
