I’ve been meaning to post this video for some time, but just got behind in my video creation duties… and by the way, this is not by best screen capture vid, but you’ll get the point I’m sure :)

A few weeks ago, the WordPress Automatic Blog Plugin underwent a major revision/update.

For those of you who’ve been using the plugin, you know the old platform was not CRON based.

It relied solely on traffic to the blog to activate the plugin. Sometimes this presented a challenge, especially for a brand new blog, with little or no traffic.

There was an easy work-around, which was to set up a free service like basicstate.com which monitors your sites uptime. The service automatically visits your site several times a day. This creates the allusion of web traffic and would activate the WordPress Automatic Blog Plugin.

The new “updated” version has an entirely new interface. It’s more streamlined, more powerful and much easier to use.

Improvements for Automatic Blog Posting WP Plugin

The good news is that there are some great automatic blog features added for this new version of wp plugin. The first 2 improvements are the major improvement which were not available from the old version of the plugin.

  • Multiple category selection for auto posting.
  • Keyword based posting.
  • Deeper searching in ArticleBase.c0m
  • Minimum words in article to be posted etc…

Automatic Blog WordPress Plugin is the topic of this article. Now that I’ve used it for several months, I’d like to share my experience here as it may be helpful to other Internet Marketers who use WordPress Blogs and bloggers in general who are looking for ways to manage posting to their blogs. Automatic blogging saves a lot of time and effort without sacrificing quality.

I own several domain hosted WordPress blogs. My biggest challenge is posting to my blogs on a regular basis. Since these blogs are in different niches, I typically research the current trends in that particular niche, take notes, write a brief article about a new slant on the niche and post to my blogs. Obviously this can be time consuming and tedious.

I have experimented with RSS feeds. RSS work well, but you really have no control over the content or the links. By all accounts, if folks reading the content are really interested and click the link, you’ve lost them. And there is the fact that RSS feeds only provided 6-7 summary of information. Again, for site visitors to read the entire post, they end up clicking away from my site. That defeats my purpose of trying to make my blogs “sticky” by providing diverse, quality content.

Besides, the fact that really good RSS software tended to be costly.

Then I got a Tweet from a friend Nikola about a new product called WordPress Automatic Blog Plugin.

Nick went on to explain that the advantage of WP Automatic Blog Plugin was that it pulled full articles (up to 300 words) from Articlesbase.com article directory straight into any domain hosted WordPress blog, and that once set up, it did this automatically each and every day.

Furthermore I could select from over 300 categories in the article directory and literally “cherry-pick” the variety of articles I wanted to import.

I’ll just share the results from using Automatic Blog on one of my blogs.

First, I was able to immediately plug the areas that were lacking on my blog. You know those topical areas that you know you should post to, but you just never get around to it. Let me be more specific. Topic of my blog is Internet Marketing. I had originally planned to develop page on Free Traffic, Sales, SEO, PPC, Site Design, etc. Prior to using WP Automatic Blog Plugin, I’d only posted content into one category because I just didn’t have time to write 20 articles.

Within a couple of days of road testing Automatic Blog I posted 10 highly relevant, targeted content articles to my blog.

Now I’m able to meet the needs of my blog visitors and subscribers, by providing a variety of articles that gave advice and solutions to their problems. In the past it would have taken me several days to write 10 articles from scratch.

Automatic Blog literally saves me hours of research, writing and posting. I know there are similar tools on the market, but none of them pulls full articles like Automatic Blog, are as easy to set up and get started or as reasonably priced.

Automatic Blog also comes with a comprehensive 13-part video tutorial series on WordPress Blogs that will walk you through getting started. It doesn’t matter if you are a novice or advanced blogger. They are full of content.

Tips for Blogging Success

There are many purposes for blogging, like public service, expression of opinions and views, etc. One no-so-obvious reason to blog — To get Google’s attention. Blogging can provide new content to your site on a consistent basis. Google favors dynamic sites, giving them higher positions than those that are inactive.

Where your blog can be posted/published: If you don’t already have your own web site, many blogging services are available online. Blogger and WordPress are two of the most used applications. Yahoo.com has also started getting some of the action in blogging. You can insert a blog on your pre-existing website, which is a fairly common practice. It would be similar to mydomain.tld/blog/

Blog Software: If you have a website and hosting readily available, you may want to try WordPress for your blog. In addition, you can create your blog articles using Blogger and have them posted on your individual website. There is a convenient FTP setup feature in Blogger that once set up, al you have to do is click a link to publish.

Content: Original blog entries (your own words, not copied from others — an exception to this rule is when you use a brief excerpt from someone’s article), and current information with engaging content are all essential in making your blog effective.

Interaction with readers: Reader feedback can be allowed on your blog. This gives you the power to moderate your blog and comments. The “moderator” facility is necessary, since it’s difficult to fight off spammers. Also, individuals who disagree with you may leave rude comments.

Making your blog visible:

  1. Make sure that the blog content is original and fresh
  2. Get Backlinks from other sites
    • join webrings,
    • partake in social networking (Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, etc.),
    • Become a member of various forums whose interests are similar to yours. Forums (communities) can be found at Google, Yuku, Aimoo and many more.
  3. Submit your URL to Google and Yahoo. WordPress has a plug-in for XML sitemap generators that can be downloaded for free (although they accept donations — they are very polite about it.)
  4. “Tags” in your content are a must. Web crawlers like Google will know how to categorize your blog articles when you put keywords in the tags (H1 tags, Title tags, etc.)
